Who wants to go Gliding!!

21st June 2026 Full Day (24 cadets)

AM Shift from approx 8:45-11:30

PM shift 12:45-4:00

Cadets are welcome to sign up for both shifts.

We have the opportunity to go Gliding next weekend!

It is going to be a beautiful day at about 26 degrees. 🌞

The address for arrival is 1593 Threshold Dr, which is on the east side of the airport, not at the terminal building.  From Highway 1, the route to CFS Abbotsford is via south on Mt. Lehman Road, east on Simpson Road or Marshall Rd, south on Queen Street through the airport gate, then east and curving south to the Abbotsford Air Show compound.

The escort officer, Cadets, and parents/drivers are required to wait at the access gate (at the end of the short dirt trail) for an escort from the Gliding program. Parents/drivers must not leave until the escort from the Gliding program arrives. Under no circumstances are the escort Officer or Cadets authorized to enter the airfield through the gate without an escort from the Gliding program.

It is imperative that the parents, drivers, Cadets, and escort Officers understand that they are not permitted on the airfield without an LMFV gliding escort. If the parents or drivers for the Cadets arrive late, they are required to call the Site Commander or the Squadron Escort Officer and request assistance. Parents or drivers are NOT to seek out assistance or direction on how to get on the airfield from any of the tenants at the airport.
