The Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence

 1.         The Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Cadet Medal of Excellence is awarded in recognition of an individual’s endeavor in citizenship that meets or enhances the aims and objectives of the cadet movement. Only one such medal may be issued per year per squadron.

2.         To be eligible for the Legion Medal of Excellence a cadet must:
i.          Be regarded by peers and superiors as exemplifying the model cadet,
ii.         Be an enrolled cadet with 746, who may be in any level,
iii.       Participate in a minimum of three community service events in addition to those supported by the squadron.

3.         To apply for Legion Medal of Excellence, you must:
i.          Write and submit a One (1) page narrative essay describing your involvement with air cadets, the community, why you should be the recipient of this award, and include three (3) references.

4.         Applications must be submitted to Lt(N) Chidlow, JG NLT 27 February 2020. 

The Lord Strathcona Trust Fund Medal

1.         The Lord Strathcona Trust Fund Medal, most commonly referred to as the Lord
Strathcona Medal, is the highest award that can be bestowed upon a cadet for recognition of exemplary performance in physical and military training. Only one such medal may be issued per year per squadron.

2.         To be eligible for the Lord Strathcona Medal, a cadet must:
i.          Be a cadet in level three or higher,
ii.         Attend a minimum of 75 percent of squadron scheduled training,
iii.       Meet all requirements of their training level,
iv.        Be regarded by peers and superiors as an exemplary model cadet.

3.         To apply for the Lord Strathcona Trust Fund Medal, a cadet must write and submit a One (1) page narrative essay describing their involvement with Air Cadets, their physical fitness routine, academic successes, and why they should be the recipient of this award.

4.         Applications must be submitted Lt(N) Chidlow, JG NLT 27 February 2020
